“Hello coaches. I'm Jaion "Deuce" Smith, a Class of 2028 starting running back for California State champion Santa Margarita Catholic HS. As a runner, I have the speed and moves to make people miss and the power to break tackles. Two of my biggest games the past two seasons were against our rival, JSerra. I had 129 yards and a TD as a sophomore and also broke 100 yards as a freshman, even though we passed a lot. I travel to come to SM because I wanted to help us become the best by beating the best, and because I like the coaches and knew I could play varsity in my first year. It's a tough school and I'm working to get my grades up and become the best player and person I can be. That's the goal here, and that's my goal for college.
